Warren Buffet once said – “The biggest decision of your life is the Ovarian Lottery. It’s the most important event of your life and you had nothing to do with it.”
And he’s right. So, so right.
You don’t get to decide where you’re born. Or when. Or into which family, country, gender, or economic background.
You could be born into a war-torn country… or a billionaire’s family.
You could be born in a safe, free country with access to education, healthcare, safety… or born somewhere survival is the only thing on the menu every day.
You didn’t earn your starting line. And neither did I.
None of us deserve it – good or bad. That’s the crazy part it’s all so damn random.
Some people start the race 5 steps away from the finish line. Others start 500 miles away, with no shoes.
And I know, life can be better than what it is for you right now. But it can also be a lot worse.
There’s always someone doing way better than you. There’s always someone doing way worse.
So if you have even the slightest unfair advantage, use it. Lean into it. Don’t apologise for it. Don’t pretend it doesn’t exist. And when the time’s right, pass it on – distribute it as much as you can.
Just a random thought today. But one worth holding on to.
