6:30 PM, and I found myself stuck in the epic Gurgaon traffic. Google Maps was starring back at me with a number. (2 hours)

Instead of being a b*tch about it & cribbing – I decided to listen to any good audio book within that 2 hour limit. And I am glad I found “Who Moved My Cheese?

This was one of those simple books that forces you to take another look at your decisions and how you might have been running on autopilot in certain situations. Anyway, after a quick Google search I realised that this is one of the most popular books out there. So I am not going to bore you by writing what the book is about. I’ll simply lay down the statements that struck me the most.

“What would I do if I wasn’t afraid?”

When this phrase was mentioned in the audio book, there was a pause of about 2-3 seconds. Because this phrase truly deserves a lot of thought. As cliche as it may sound, just think about it – What would you do if you were not afraid?

We all plan/strategize/ponder about something & then eventually never really take action. And the prime reason for most of us is – fear.

“Quicker you let go of old cheese, the sooner you find new cheese.”

This book primarily deals with change & how we should deal with it. It is important to adapt to changes as quickly as possible. Nothing lasts forever and we can all feel the change coming, but somehow we tend to ignore that & run on autopilot. And once the change does happen, it is so important to quickly let go of it & start finding the new cheese because there is always new cheese to go look for.

“When you change what you believe, you change what you do.”

This one is perhaps one of my favorite. Sometimes, there are things that we strongly believe in for ages that might be a road block. It maybe how you run your business, deal with your relationships etc.  But once you learn more about it & make the effort of changing that belief, you end up changing your actions which helps you leap & move forward.

“Taking action is key. Moving in a new direction can free you.”

There’s no two ways about it. The only key to change is taking massive action. Creating plans, strategizing & setting your goals is all good. But unless we back it up with the actions – it’s all worthless. It’s amazing how incredibly freeing it is.

“Continue to explore and grow! Even when things are good.”

There are so many articles about what to do when things are not going your way. But there aren’t many on what to do when everything is on point! Hence, I personally loved this one. Even when things are going good, it is so important to keep on moving & doing better.

TLDR : Don’t be afraid of change, embrace it. Keep looking for changes & always have your guard up, even when things are going good. Don’t be afraid to change your old thoughts & actions. Always know that taking massive action is the key.
