Should you be productive? Absolutely.
Is hard work the only solution when you’re stuck in life? No.
Sometimes, you have to adjust your trajectory. Maybe you’re banging against a concrete wall to move forward, while there’s a wooden door right next to it, ready to be opened. You just don’t see it because you’re so busy working “hard” to get through the concrete wall.
Maybe it’s time to adjust your trajectory first instead of just working “hard” like a madman.
Bottom line: working hard is not always the right option. In fact, it’s a classic recipe for burnout. Sharing from experience.
For the longest time, I believed that working hard was the only way to succeed. Until I started understanding and appreciating the nuances of life. A lot of my biggest wins did not come from just working hard. They came from the synergy of working on the right door.
So, if you’re reading this and currently feeling stuck, the answer is not more hard work. The answer is first having a deep understanding of what you want, what works for you, what doesn’t, what excites you, what drains you, and what actually empowers you or gives you more fuel when you put in the work.
